who we are and what our music is all about -

The Roustabouts, DC's Finest Blues-Fiddle Band, came together in the early 2000s and made their mark on the local scene during a seven-year run of monthly gigs at The Zoo Bar, DC’s beloved blues dive and a frequent hang for many of the foremost performers in the city. Their genre-bending, fiddle-infused sound weaves traditional and contemporary blues together with healthy doses of rock, funk and classic R&B.

Featuring the fiddlin’ fingers of Pete Daniels and the soulful vocals of Andrew Wiley, with everyman Dan Shine on the badass blues guitar, journeyman Jeff Muller on the funky bass, and grooveman Phil Bucci on the poly-rhythmic drums, the band’s debut album, "Plenty of Blues," features a dozen tracks, eleven of which are road-tested originals that have been thrilling DC-area audiences for years. With help from the legendary Mark Wenner of the Nighthawks on harmonica, award-winning R&B artist Tommy Lepson on keyboards, and others, "Plenty of Blues" takes listeners on a bold, groove-filled journey that defies easy labels.

These days The Roustabouts perform regularly at venues in the greater DC Metro area and beyond. The band sets out to create the most soulful, entertaining performance possible, giving audiences new ways to experience and enjoy the blues. Live performances include an exciting mix of original tunes and curated covers infused with intense musicality, engaging audiences and fellow musicians alike with a passionate, soul-saturated roller coaster ride of raw blues emotion. Every time they hit the stage the band brings a dedicated quality to their carefully crafted sound. Come check out DC’s Finest Blues-Fiddle Band, thrilling audiences for 20 years and counting!
